Essaouira

Essaouira is a port city in Morocco, on the Atlantic coast with about 70,000 inhabitants, it is also called Tassourt or Amogdul ("the well-guarded") in Amazigh, Mogdura Portuguese, Spanish and Mogadur "Mogador" in French.


Tourism is increasingly important in Essaouira, with nice hotels located in traditional Moroccan riads in the old town. There are also modern hotels along the beach.
